The possibilities are endless when it comes to the Cricut Maker. If you are new to sewing having the ability to cut material and create homemade projects easily has been one of my favorite things to do.
More than 300 Different Types of Materials
The machine not only gives you different options to cut but the abundance of materials you can use is pretty amazing! From the most delicate paper and fabric to the tough stuff like matboard, leather, and basswood. Because the Maker cuts thicker materials that can open entirely new possibilities for your crafting. For example, the Maker doesn’t cut through thicker acrylic material but it can engrave which can make beautiful personalized signs – perfect for weddings and anniversary parties.
That beautiful sign was made using an acrylic sheet, the engraving tool, and vinyl. Using a dry erase marker to give the lines definition. One of my other favorite materials to cut is leather. You can do so much with leather material – like earrings, bracelets, or engraving a beautiful cover for a notebook.
Personalization is a Breeze
The ability to create t-shirts, tote bags, onesies, and more really makes the Maker one of a kind. Every school year my kids ask me to personalize their school supplies. My daughter wanted a unicorn backpack this year so that’s what she got! You can see how to create your own unicorn back or personalized clothing.
The machine makes it so easy to give your family exactly what they want. With the ability to use iron-on vinyl on so many different materials you really can put it on anything! Use it to personalize sports equipment, team sports shirts, bathing suits, and so much more! This is the reason I use my machine the most! Now with the new Infusible Ink system, I am creating so many different shirts that look like they can be sold in Target stores!
