Baseball caps are a necessary staple in my everyday wardrobe. Not only because they shield my face from the sun (I tend to be on the baseball field a lot because both of my kids play sports) but it helps me represent my favorite team! But I mostly use it to protect my face from the sun. I’ll be heading to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico soon and knew I had to make a Beach Baseball cap for all the sun-soaking I’m going to be doing. The new Cricut Hat Press makes it easier than EVER to create custom hats.

I have a free SVG file (Personal use only) for you to make your own Beach Baseball cap! It is much easier to use the Cricut Hat Press but I’ve used the Mini Easypress as well.

Here is what you’ll need:

Let’s get started!

Download the free design to your computer then upload to Cricut Design Space.

Size it about 3.5 inches in Width. If you prefer, Cricut also has a template you can use that will help you size the image to what you need. Search “Hat Press Design Setup” to help you place your image.

When the image is sized correctly, send it to cut by selecting your connected machine. Be sure to mirror your image since this is iron-on vinyl.

Once the machine is done cutting, use your weeding tool to weed your design. If you have not installed the Cricut Heat app on your phone, now is a good time! It syncs to the Cricut Hat Press machine giving you the exact temperature and time you need based on your material. It connects via Bluetooth so easy to get the correct settings every time!

I love how easy it is to use! No more guessing! I used strong heat-resistant tape to secure my image on my baseball hat and once the Hat Press was heated I pressed it to the hat. I waited to peel it once it was cool to the touch.

I love, love the way it came out! I know it looks hard to see since it is black on black but I wanted a subtle look. You can really see it nicely in person! For my trip, I did a Puerto Rico hat using a design from Cricut Design Space.

I cannot wait to wear it for my upcoming trip! There are so many possibilities now that it is so much easier to personalize hats. I typically wear a baseball cap every day because I do not like getting sun on my face so I’m so excited to finally create hats easily!

What kind of hats will you create with your Cricut Hat Press?
