Celebrate the release of the new Avengers movie with these Marvel Avengers inspired Pretzel Rods featuring some of your favorite superheroes! The #recipe is super easy too!
Having a superhero loving six-year-old means we’ve begun the countdown for the new MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron weeks ago. He has been so excited about seeing his beloved Iron Man on the big screen. OK, OK and Hulk and Captain America and… well you get the point. The kid loves all that superhero stuff. We love how passionate he is about “good” guys that we like to join in his enthusiasm. With the moving coming out we decided to have some fun with some new The Avengers toys and a fun recipe post. We headed to Walmart to see all The Avengers merchandise. My son immediately grabbed the Iron Man mask and gloves. They are pretty cool! They light up and talk so you get some real Iron Man action! My son played with the set all day – jumping from the swing set and “saving” his friends from Loki.
Guess who also wanted to be part of the fun – my little princess! She kept saying she wanted to be a superhero like brother. Christian kept calling her, “Iron Girl”. They had a blast chasing each other all over the yard. I love that they get to play together and be whoever they want to be. That’s what being a kid is all about right?
My son loves little action figures so we picked up two – Hulk and a new character from the upcoming movie. He will carry those little action figures everywhere he goes. He’ll battle with them while we shop at the grocery store or have an entire narrative while driving home. His imagination is amazing!
We were so excited about the incoming movie that we watched the last The Avengers movie. I wanted to make us a quick, easy snack while we enjoyed the movie as a family. We love candy coated pretzel rods so I knew I could create The Avengers inspired pretzel rods with sprinkles. It is so easy and simple! You can find everything you need at Walmart!
The Avengers Inspired Pretzel Rods 
Ingredients:
- Pretzel Rods
- Candy Coating
- Sprinkles (red, white, blue, yellow, purple, and green)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Tall cup/container (for dipping)
Directions:
- Start by melting your candy coating as directed on the package.
- Once melted, pour candy coating into a tall cup/container (you can also spoon it over the pretzel but I find dipping is much easier)
- Dip pretzel into the candy coating
- Tap the pretzel along the rim of the cup/container to remove any excess coating. (You want a thin layer so it doesn’t drip everywhere)
- Sprinkle your choice of sprinkles! (Captain America – red, white, blue / Hulk – Purple, green / Iron Man – Red, gold/yellow)
- Allow it time to harden and enjoy!
By the way, I even dipped some graham crackers that I had and put sprinkles on them! I love candy coating, you can do sooo many things with it. Get creative with the pretzels, so many possibilities!
