My kids can tell you that I sound like a broken record most days, “Did you brush your teeth?”. A question that is constantly asked daily. My kids are pretty good at brushing their teeth and when I ask the answer is almost always, “yes”. I’ve spoken to them about the importance of oral hygiene. No one wants to be the person who is spoken about because they don’t have the fresh mouth. The way a person presents themselves to others, makes a difference. The first thing we see is a person’s face. When we introduce ourselves we have to talk – it is important that our oral care is taken seriously so our first impressions are positive.
The truth is our oral health says a lot about us and the way people perceive us. A recent national survey revealed the health of one’s mouth has a surprising and significant impact on how others perceive many aspects of one’s life – from opinions about success in romantic relationships and career, to assumptions about overall health and hygiene. I think the survey results will help people make a positive change toward a healthier oral regimen. Many of the oral care issues that Americans experience can be prevented, and adding LISTERINE® as part of a twice-daily oral care routine can help ensure your mouth is always on your side.
Teaching our kids good oral care early can help them tremendously in their future careers. According to the survey, “Nearly 7 in 10 Americans think having an unhealthy mouth threatens one’s chances of getting hired (68%)”. I definitely don’t want my child to feel that they won’t get a job because they didn’t take care of their teeth. To add to the previous statistic, “Most Americans believe that poor oral health can have a negative impact on the likelihood of being promoted (60%)”. Such a huge percentage, let’s do what we can to change that! “More than 7 in 10 Americans believe having an unhealthy mouth can negatively impact one’s confidence giving a speech (75%), and more than 6 in 10 believe it can affect a person’s willingness to speak in a meeting (64%) and their ability to lead a meeting (61%).”

I am glad that I started taking my kids to the dentist at an early age because they are not afraid when they go. I am happy that they have not had one cavity, yet! My son uses the Listerine Smart Rinse mouth wash twice daily – he seriously loves it. I think he secretly feels like a grown up since he sees my husband and I using mouthwash. Whatever it takes to make sure they practice good oral health. I’ve only had a cavity twice in my 30 years of living! I’m not a sweets lover so I think that helps but I also make sure to brush often, use floss, and use Listerine mouthwash. Brushing your teeth alone misses 75% of your mouth, leaving millions of germs behind. Left untreated, these germs can lead to oral care issues such as plaque and gingivitis.

What does your family struggle with when it comes to oral health?
This is a sponsored post. I received LISTERINE® Brand products from Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc. as part of my participation in this project. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own.
We use Listerine here too. It was my dad’s favorite brand and is also mine too.
Bad breath isn’t fun but chewing with an open mouth is far worse because it’s a choice and it’s just rude. My favorite Listerine is the blue one.
Flossing is our struggle with the kids! I don’t know what it is but they always forget to do it!
My oldest loves using his.
What a handsome young man! I’m like you..I’m so glad that I took my kids to the dentist while they were younger as now when they go they act like it’s a lot of fun. They don’t get lollipops and balloons but they still love going.
I have been using Listerine for as long as I can remember. I always have my house stocked with Listerine mouthwash and my purse with Listerine Pocketpaks so I can have fresh breath all day.
