Back to school preparations are in full swing. My son starts 1st grade next week! With the help of some amazing brands – Oriental Trading, Sprout, and Kind Snacks, I threw a Back to School party for my son and his friends. We kept it low key with only a few kids. I wanted to have fun activities for them but also include some back to school items for them to take home, as well as the chance to taste some yummy snacks by healthy brands.
I created an adorable back to school setting with some Kraft wrapping paper, chalkboard vinyl, and big die cut letters. The table was set up with a red and white tablecloth from Oriental Trading. I bought cute little acrylic bowls to add the snacks to. Using red mason jars, I filled them with erasers, pencils, and sharpeners from Oriental Trading. Each place setting was setup with a drawstring bag they can color with markers, a small chalkboard with chalk, and a back to school activity book . I also got party props for the kids to take pictures in an area I setup.
The blank drawstring bags were a hit with the kids. The bag had a design of penguins in a snow scene where they can color in with markers I provided them. The bag is perfect for a day at the park or being around as it could hold plenty of items. The chalkboard was the perfect size for practicing letters, numbers, or arithmetic. I let the kids pick what items they wanted to take home in their pencil pouches. We had colorful fish sharpeners that held the pencil shavings in its mouth. The pencils were colorful owls. I also picked an assortment of erasers so they can choice what type of eraser they preferred. I also had crayons and glue sticks for each of them. They had a blast chit chatting about everything and seeing each other’s designs.
My favorite setup was the photo prop area. All the kids got involved showing off their silly poses! Everyone was just having a great time. I will definitely do another photo prop area again. I used my photo printer to print out the images for the kids in sticker paper.
The moms got in on the fun too!
