Bathroom renovations are a breeze with Delta Upstile Wall System. Get the bathroom you always wanted with easy customization and installation.
When we moved into our house last year, we knew that renovations would be needed. The bathroom was dated, really dated! I’m talking about peeling wallpaper, beige tiles and tub, and a weird wall color design. We were able to renovate the master bathroom right away but the second bathroom needed a full gut job. Luckily, we were able to partner with Delta. Their new Upstile Wall system made it easy to renovate on a budget.
This is the crazy dated bathroom –
Bathroom Renovation using the Delta UPstile Wall System
Renovations can get quite expensive very quickly! There is always that unexpected expense. We faced all of the unexpected expenses during this renovation! Hopefully, you can learn from my experience.
My husband and brother-in-law installed the Upstile system after gutting everything in the bathroom. We replaced everything! The best advice is to pick up everything you need before starting anything. Be sure to carefully read the instructions provided in the Upstile system. I also recommend watching any videos on the installation. It is good to visually see the installation process.
We did the bathtub Upstile combo since it was the kid’s bathroom. Delta has a shower stall version if that is what you need. The kits are available in a variety of sizes so you should have no problem finding the size that works with your bathroom setup.
Benefits of Using Delta UPstile Wall System
- Easy installation – Delta UPstile system screws straight into the studs. No worries about drywall and the shower wall kit fitting properly.
- Customize the look of your tile – Pick any tile that matches your style. Home Depot has so many different options that will fit your needs. All you need is some DAP 3.0 glue and grout to adhere the tiles to the UPstile wall system.
- Easy to clean – The UPstile system is made from ProCrylic material making it easy to clean. Textured surface on bathtub resists scratches and stains. The material resists mildew which keeps it looking new!
Delta Upstile Installation Process
My husband removed the toilet first because he knew he had to remove the tub. Once the toilet was removed, he started removing the old ceramic tiles on the drywall. He cut the drywall after removing because he needed to figure out how high he needed to cut in order to fit the Delta UpStile Wall system.
Once the all the tiles were out and hr drywall removed, he began removing the old tub. It took my husband some time to get these done since he was doing it by himself. We were going to remove the floor tiles at this point but they were not budging! My husband tried chiseling those floor tiles but they were not coming off. He decided to just lay tile on top of the old ones.
My brother in law came over for a weekend to help my husband install the system and tub since he is familiar with bathtub installation. They did run into a few issues when it came to the plumbing.
The installation of the Upstile was a breeze. The tub was placed in position then they began placing each wall panel. They screwed the panels to the studs – the instructions will tell you exactly what to do. Making sure everything is level and secured is most important. The guys were always checking to make sure each panel was secured and leveled to the wall brackets.
Selecting the tiles we wanted was fun! We went to Home Depot and found a tile that matched the decor style we were going for. The installation was pretty simple (I even helped with this part!). The inlay makes it easy to see exactly where you need to place the tiles. Using the recommended glue and grout, we got it all installed.
They used a polymer sealant to seal all the edges around the tub and tile. We allowed it to cure for about 24-48 hours before exposing it to water.
We used the Delta Tesla Monitor® 17 Series H2Okinetic® Tub & Shower Trim for our faucet and shower head. The big shower head is perfect for the kid’s bathroom.
The installation of the Delta UpStile system was a breeze and would definitely recommend it to them who are looking for an easy way to renovate their bathroom. You have so many options where it comes to customization. The kids have been thoroughly enjoying their new tub and shower! The bathroom renovation is almost complete! We installed the floor tiles already, the new sink and cabinet, and the mirror. We just have a few finishing touches like baseboards and shelving to add.
