Cirque du Soleil has arrived in Miami! My family and I were so excited to be invited to attend a showing of Cirque du Soleil Amaluna. It was the first time we’ve seen a Cirque du Soleil show and wow were we impressed! The acrobats, the storytelling, the aerial dancing were all amazing! The show is great for the entire family, keeping kids and adults entertained. You instantly get engrossed in the story with different acts.
About Cirque du Soleil Amaluna
Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon. Their queen, Prospera, directs her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony in a rite that honours femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance which marks the passing of these insights and values from one generation to the next.
My family and I attended the Cirque du Soleil show across from Sun Life stadium, under the Big Top. I think no matter where you sit in the tent, you will have a great view to the stage which is right in the middle. We had great seats and got to see everything perfectly. Since we were attending with my 6 and 2 years old kids, they did offer booster seats so they can see better. My son was instantly engrossed with the show the moment it started. My daughter on the other hand had a little trouble sitting still for the entire show. We luckily bought popcorn and snacks from the concession stand.
Cirque du Soleil’s stories and routines change every year and Amaluna will only be showing for a short period in Miami. The Amaluna show was a beautiful love story. The music, lights, and perform was incredible! All of the performers are so talented. You get a little of everything – juggling, acrobats, gymnastics, dancing, and so much more! The stage was set beautifully with various colors and props. The show really captivates the audience with all the different elements. The costumes and makeup are impressive particularly lizard man, Cali. His skin looks so real! He was my son’s favorite character. We loved it and can’t wait to see the next show.
My thoughts: If attending the show with younger kids under 3 years old, I do recommend bring snacks or picking something up from the concession stand. The snacks kept my 2 year old daughter calm while the show was on. The show is definitely something the entire family will enjoy! Can’t wait to see the different stories of Cirque du Soleil since it changes every year.
