Creating a cozy reading area can make a big difference on getting kids to read. Reading is such an essential part of the learning process and making an area just for them to relax can help them to love to read. Brentwood Home has products that are perfect for kids’ reading nooks. Be sure to use the 10% Brentwood Home coupon for some serious savings!

What do you need?

Seating. The Venice Lounger from Brentwood Home has been a hit with my son. It is the part amount of coziness when snuggling up to read a book. The lounger is filled with plush gel memory foam. Perfect for cuddling up with your child if you decide to read to them. The best part? The cover is completely washable! Seriously, it is perfect for kids rooms.

Books. Getting kids to read may sometimes be difficult. For example, my son loves learning about real life experience and survival books. I look for those types of books when I’m at the bookstore. They hold his interest and it’ll get him reading which is what I want! Even if you kid is not a big reader, maybe comic books will help. To them it may not seem like “reading” since comics have images but they are reading and following a story. May be fun to read the comic too!

Comfort. Have pillows and blankets available for those chilly days. My son and daughter both love having their little throw blankets when they are lounging. The Brentwood Lilypad Kids pillow is perfect for my little ones since they have allergies. The pillow is comfortable and just the perfect amount of fluff. The Lilypad pillow uses safe, healthy materials like an organic cotton cover, 100% natural latex ribbons, and is free of any chemical flame retardants, heavy metals, or phthalates.

Storage. Having a bookcase or storage bin makes it easy for kids to find the book they are looking for. We put the lounger right next to the bookcase, giving my son easy access to reading material. When they are done, they just place it right back. It is a win-win – kids reading and no mess!

If you are thinking of creating a cozy space for your child, consider Brentwood Home. They have products for kids and adults! Healthy, luxurious home essentials at honest prices, handcrafted just for you, made in California and shipped to your doorstep.

  1. Each of my boys has those circle-type chairs in his room. I know they have a name, but I don’t know it. Those chairs are cozy.

  2. we have a “plushie corner” its where he goes to be comfy with all his plushies…so we could def make use of a reading corner

  3. Yes my oldest daughter does in her bedroom. My youngest will have one as soon as she is old enough to stop dumping books for fun lol.

  4. Currently, my little one reads books on the floor, I wouldn’t call this a cozy place. I know he’d love to have a comfortable place all his own for reading!

  5. We bought our first house in June and it has a finished basement. My daughter has a little reading nook. She loves to read her books down there.
