Make this easy wood pumpkin sign using any vinyl – how adorable would glitter vinyl look? All the heart eyes. I wanted a simple sign with a cute saying so I came up with “Welcome to our Patch” since it is a pumpkin!

Directions:

Step 1: Download the free cut file and open it in Silhouette Studio. I have it sized to what you need for the Target dollar spot wood pumpkin but if are using a different pumpkin – just re-size it what you need.

Step 2: Go to the cut screen, select Vinyl – matte (if that is the material you are using). Send to cut.

Step 3: Use your weeding tools to weed the design. Cut a piece of transfer tape to place over the weeded design. Use a scraper tool to really adhere it to the transfer tape. Position the design on the wood pumpkin. Use the scraper tool again to make sure it really sticks well. Carefully, remove the transfer tape.

All done! Admire your easy wood pumpkin wood sign. The easiest project ever, right? I love that I can turn something plain into something that I want. The pumpkin does have 2 sides – a smooth side and a lined side – I added the vinyl to the smooth side. I am sure you can probably add it to the lined side but it may not look right.

I was going to use the PixScan mat to perfectly place my text but it was too big. The Pixscan is great for visually seeing your object on your screen perfectly.

How to Make Wood Signs with Vinyl Lettering

Vinyl has been my go-to for making DIY signs. I’ve been vinyling everything. Hea transfer vinyl is my favorite because you can put it on anything – shirts, pillows, canvas, and more!

Welcome to our Patch wood sign

Pick up some wood signs at your home improvement store or even your craft store. I saw a lot of blank wood signs in Michael’s the last time I was there. I’ll be sharing a wood sign tutorial soon! It will be for the entryway of our house. You can use vinyl and place it on your wood piece or use it as a stencil.

The Target dollar spot had so many wood items that could have vinyl lettering. Be sure to browse and see what goodies you find!

Have you ever personalized Target dollar spot items?
