Elf on the Shelf Welcome Party
Elf on the Shelf has become a family tradition in our house. The kids look forward to December 1st when our elf Diego and Cici arrive. I like to make their arrival special by having a little party! The Elf on the Shelf welcome party is filled with games, food, activities, and photo ops. The kids enjoy the start of their Advent Calendar too! Do you have a special party to welcome your elf?
Though my son is 9 years old, he still believes in the elf. I thought for sure this would be the last year but he looks forward to the elf’s shenanigans every morning when he wakes up. I do have to share a funny story about our two elfs. Last year we accidentally lost Diego so we bought a new Elf. We ended up finding our original Elf a few months after and decided we would use both of them. One would be for my son and one for my daughter. I picked up some Elf outfits at Target to dress them up so they look different. We realized that even putting one of the elfs in the girly outfit still made “him” look like a boy so we decided to marker on some lipstick. My husband and I placed the Elfs in their spots and went to bed.
The next morning, I hear my son saying, “why does Diego have a dress?” My kids had an entire conversation about Diego in a dress saying it is not Diego but his twin sister that looks like him. I also heard them saying maybe Diego retired. My husband and I were secretly laughing and I totally had a #momfail there.
