Fresh Guava Margarita

Looking for a refreshing cocktail? This fresh guava margarita is exactly what you need!

Fresh guava margarita
We have a little guava tree that has produced so many guavas lately. I love guava trees because they put out fruit all year around! I’ve made guava bread, guava jam, guava meatballs (they are amazing!), and my latest creation – Fresh Guava Margarita. The drink is SO refreshing! Fresh fruit anything always tastes better in my opinion. You can make a nice batch of this for parties and get-togethers. The guavas just need to be pureed ahead to save you some time. I don’t think you’ll go back to store-bought guava nectar juices after tasting this amazing drink. Post contains affiliate links. The margarita is sweet and tart but delicious. You can definitely adjust to your liking by adding more simple syrup, lime juice, or triple sec. Totally up to you! If you want to kick it up a notch, add sugar around the rim instead of salt! It tastes SO good. Let’s get to the recipe!

Guava margarita ingredients

Fresh Guava Margarita

Ingredients needed for Guava Margarita:

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz fresh puree Guavas (about 2 fresh guavas)
  • .5 oz Simple Syrup (increase to 1 oz if you want it sweeter)
  • .5 oz lime juice
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
  • Water
  • Ice cubes

Directions:

Step 1: Peel the guavas then cut them in to quarter size chunks. Don’t worry about the seeds as we will use the strainer to remove them.

Step 2: Place the cut pieces of guava with about 1/4  cup of water in a blender or processor. You want it to be liquefied so that it is easy to strain. If it is too thick add a bit more water and blend. Using the strainer place over a container and pour the blended guava puree.

Step 3: In a cocktail shaker, add the remaining ingredients (Tequila, Guava puree, simple syrup, lime juice, triple sec, ice cubes) and mix well. Pour the margarita into a cup or glass and enjoy your refreshing cocktail!

So easy, right? This is going to be my new favorite drink for the Summer. To save time I make a big batch of guava puree and just add the amount I need when I am making myself a drink. My husband likes it a bit sweeter so I add an additional .5 oz of Simple syrup but it is totally up to you.

You can also make a pitcher of margaritas ahead of time and freeze it to make Frozen Guava Margaritas or keep it in the refrigerator and pour as needed. Just give it a little shake if anything settles at the bottom. I’m working on a few other drinks using guavas and will share once I finish taste testing!
