The hoverboard craze has officially hit the Moncada household. Yes, this 30-something mom just rode a hoverboard. Not just any hoverboard but the Halo Rover. The best of all hoverboards. The holidays are right around the corner and my son has been asking for a hoverboard forever – so he’ll be in for a treat Christmas morning! But since I’m a mom I had to test it out – you know safety and all that. It exceeded my expectations and I learned that I need to work on my balance.

The Halo Rover comes with all the bells and whistles. The minute you open the box you’ll see a beautiful black case. Your Rover is safely stored inside the case. We put it to charge so we can test out the next day. I didn’t want my son to see the hoverboard so we sneakily headed to the park. I purposely chose a deserted park because I wanted to save myself the embarrassment if I fell on my behind. Trust me, there is a learning curve. It does have a self-stabilizing feature which is a HUGE help. I wobbled a little but I eventually got the hang of it. My husband picked it up pretty quickly. Once you get it, you get it. It becomes easier every time.
Let’s talk about safety. That is probably one of the first thing parents are concerned with and I totally understand (as I would be too!). You’ll have a worry free guarantee – no overheating, malfunction, UL certified Firesafe LG batteries, and US Government approved UL certification. The Halo Rover is guaranteed indestructible with a board protecting Halo wings and 8.5 inch tires. The tires are amazing! It let’s you ride on all terrains. Think boardwalks, the beach, parks, etc. The Rover also has headlights in the front and blinkers in the back which automatically lights up when you turn left or right. Love that!
The Rover has some pretty cool features like Bluetooth connectivity, which allows you to play music straight from the Halo Board. You also track your GPS location, speed, and battery life through the mobile app. You can also set the mode within the app from training, normal, and advanced. The Rover goes up to 9 mph and charges in only 2.5 hours.
I’m looking forward to taking the Halo Rover everywhere and the carrying case makes it so easy to transport. It is definitely going to end up being a “family” gift. Ha ha. My son is going to be so excited Christmas morning!
