Can you believe it? 2016. You may have noticed a change to my blog. A year, a new logo. I wanted something fun and colorful. I’m lovin’ all the watercolor stuff that is out there right now – so why not a watercolor logo too? I was back and forth with what direction I wanted my blog to go – I don’t want a blog where people come just for giveaways but a place where you can actually learn something.
Hello 2016
I’ll continue to have reviews and some giveaways but it won’t be the sole purpose of my blog. Reviews are time-consuming – using the product, taking pictures, editing, writing the blog post, sharing on social media. Its a lot of work and honestly I just have too much stuff! I’m only going to share products my family loves. The post will be less review-y(that is totally not a word, I’m sure) and more organic.
I’v probably mentioned this before but I work full-time outside the home and it really takes a toll on me. I’ve really felt burnt out last year. I forgot why I started a blog and really got to a point where I didn’t want to do it. Just imagine working full time – driving about an hour each way to work, coming home to cook, bathing the kids, helping with homework, getting them ready for bed, then blog until midnight- 1 am. I was exhausted – mentally. physically exhausted. I took a little blog break over the Holidays to relax and reflectI’m going to work on loving what I do. Doing more DIY, house projects, and just sharing life.
- More DIY
- More experiences (like traveling!)
- More family
- More of what I’m doing personally – what ebook am I reading, what exercise am I currently loving, what has been my favorite recipe, etc
- Connect with YOU!
- Most importantly, enjoy life!
I hope you’ll stick around for the ride!
XOXO
Love, love, love the new look!
We are going through a blog redesign soon and I can not wait. Starting a new year out on the blog with new look it is so motivating. Good luck in 2016 I am sure its gonna be a great year!
I completley agree with the feeling burnt out! I work outside the home as well and it is so draining!
As a blogger myself, I definitely agree about how much time blogging entails. It’s amazing that you maintained a blog along with working outside the home. I love how we reflect during the holidays on how we want the direction of our blogs to go in the new year. Wishing you the best!
Loving the new look! I love seeing how so many different blogs I follow are doing a mini face lift to start the year fresh. I too am adding more travel to my blog. I guess it is kind of selfish because I really want to travel more–and write about it!
I believe 2016 to be a year of great possibilities!!! Your new look is awesome and I am loving the new log.
I’m a little burnt out as well. I just need a vacation and I’ll be good!
I can totally relate to not being able to find the time to write or the feeling of being burnt out. Sometimes I just want to get it all out but can’t find the time to do it. I feel like I am being pulled in every direction except the one I want to be in! lol I look forward to seeing what the new year brings!
I love the fun new colors and changes to your blog. It is colorful and happy! I love the New Year! It makes me want to get all areas of my life updated and in order! I hope you have a wonderful 2016!
Your Colors are great love the choice you made. It really is hard to manage more then one thing at a time.Hope this year is amazing for you.
