Orlando. Best known for its Disney attractions, which means there are a lot of accommodations available. How do you decide where to stay? It is important to do research when deciding on where to stay if you will be traveling with family. My family and I got to experience a two-night stay at Holiday Inn Orlando- Disney Springs area. When I looked through the Holiday Inn website, I can see why many people pick Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts. They offer a lot of amenities – Kids Eat Free, free WiFi, large pools, and so much more. A kid-friendly hotel for families who want a relaxing experience but still offering some fun for the kids.
About Hotel Inn Hotels
Kemmons Wilson launched the Holiday Inn brand in 1952 after he ventured out for a vacation with his family, only to find the quality of hotels to be inconsistent and unpredictable. He decided that travelers should be able to walk into a hotel they know will have comfortable rooms and friendly, accommodating staff. He also felt that family travel should be affordable and that there shouldn’t be an extra charge for kids.
As you can see from the very beginning, Holiday Inn was all about family accommodations. I stood in the hotel with my 7-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. They were very excited to be staying at a hotel and going to Disney! It happened to be the weekend of Thanksgiving so I was worried it would be very busy but was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was not crowded at all! Checking in was a breeze! The staff was very friendly and inviting – offering me tips and brochures for our upcoming Disney trip. I was also really happy to be informed that our room got upgraded to resort view which means we can see the fireworks from some of the Disney Parks!
The view was breathtaking from the 12th floor. We got to see as far as Animal Kingdom’s Mount Everest ride! You can see the snow peak on the horizon. We, unfortunately, didn’t get to see the fireworks from our balcony since we were in the parks until late at night. But how amazing would that be if you were just visiting the area and not going to the parks?! The hotel is about a 7-minute walk from Disney Springs – if you wanted to avoid the parking craziness of Disney. There is a pathway you can take that leads you right to Disney Springs – shopping, eating, and entertainment just minutes from your hotel!
The room was very spacious! Each room provides high-speed Internet access, a work desk, and a 32-inch flat panel LCD HDTV. The balconies are quite spacious as well with chairs for sitting. The bathrooms have granite countertops and spacious tubs. Everything looked clean and neat. It makes me feel comfortable when I see a hotel that pays attention to detail. I feel a little embarrassed admitting this but my husband and I both forgot deodorant – we called the front desk and they brought us deodorants. That’s what you call amazing service!
The Continental breakfast had some delicious options. I loved the omelet bar – they do omelets any way you like with so many toppings. My kids absolutely loved the Mickey Mouse waffles! There were many breakfast choices – bacon, sausage, biscuits, oatmeal, pastries, a variety of bread, potatoes and so much more. Remember kids eat free so let them enjoy some delicious breakfast options!
We didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor pool this time around but hopefully, next time we stay we’ll get to enjoy the amazing size pool. I love the zero entry into the pool – perfect for younger kids! The pool has little waterfall features around and a lap lane if you wanted to get some exercise in! Talking about exercise, the fitness center has a great selection for those that want to workout during their stay. If the kids are up for some fun – the arcade is available with a variety of gaming options for them.
We absolutely loved staying at Holiday Inn Hotels this past weekend – the accommodations, service, and food was all amazing! I love the convenience of it being in the Disney Resort area and that they offer transportation to/from the theme parks (if you don’t want to drive and pay for parking). It was nice to come back to a comfy bed after a long day at the theme parks. We went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom in 1 day – crazy right? It was worth the sore feet to see my kids with smiles on their face. We woke up refreshed and ready to conquer our day the next day – that’s what you call an amazing nights sleep!

So beautiful! I can’t wait to visit there one day.
Wow, it looks like you and your family had a wonderful getaway. I would have never thought that the Holiday Inn would be so fancy. Your post definitely takes away any stigma it once had. Loved that there were activities for the whole entire family–and breakfast! Who doesn’t love a yummy way to start the day?!?
Ha ha exactly Amanda! The breakfast was the best I’ve had while staying at a hotel. An omlette bar? Totally won me over!
We are now finally just driving distance of California’s Disney, by Los Angeles. I think my husband and I should go down for a weekend trip, because who knows when we’ll be moving back to Canada (where we’re from). So pleased to see you guys enjoyed yourselves both at Disney, and at the Holiday Inn. Gotta ask – how did you become a Holiday Inn Ambassador??? I kinda want to be one too lol.
Hi Nancy, I worked with the PR company in the past and they reached out to me. You should definitely go to Disney! It is an amazing experience.
Ah, I love that they decorated for Christmas! We’ve stayed in hotels during the holidays in the past and they didn’t do anything, but it looks like that Holiday Inn went all out! I love that you guys had an awesome view too and that Omelet bar looks amazing, so glad it was kid friendly, it makes a big difference to know your kids are totally welcome there! We’re trying to go to Disney next year so we’ll have to keep this place in mind (and hopefully get to use that awesome looking pool!)

Stacey, your family will love it! They also offer the shuttle to and from the parks which is a big help! Parking at Disney is around $20! Nice to avoid that charge if you can! Holiday Inn also does not have a “resort fee” like many of the other hotels.
It looks like you and your family had a great vacation. I heard Orlando has plenty of things to offer aside from Disney land. So it is important to find the right hotel that will help you discover more places.
How crazy is it that I read this right before we go to Disney? We’re staying at a Disney resort, but I love Holiday Inn hotels. We stayed at one on our Charleston vacation and I recently stayed at one in the Chicago area for work. Both were great!
This looks like it was such a magical experience for the whole family! I’ve been wanting to take my grandchildren to disneyland but haven’t had the time to yet 🙁 Hopefully soon! Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience! 🙂
You guys are so lucky! What an amazing trip. Your hotel looks very nice. And I would soooo love to visit Disney one day too. On my wish list for sure.
We just had a new Holiday Inn built around the corner from us too, and it looks nice.
What an adorable family! I’m glad you guys had a good time. That hotel view is splendid! The hotel looks like a great place for the little ones, too.
