How to be a cool kids

Kids are way too cool nowadays. Kids are smart and they know exactly what they want. When it comes to their clothing, the type of backpack they want, or even how to style their hair – they are not afraid to voice their opinion (at least for my kid). My son can be particular about what I buy for him especially anything that goes on his hair. There was a time when he would use any shampoo, conditioner, or styling product I gave him – now at 8 years old he cares about what he puts on his hair. He cares a lot. I was excited for him to try New Suave Kids Disney Star Wars Collection because he is a huge Star Wars fan and I knew it was a brand he trusts.

My son was sweet enough to share some very important knowledge with me and I’m nice so I wanted to share it with the world. Here are some tips on how to be the cool kid (straight from my 8-year-old boy!):

Tips on How to be a Cool Kid

Good style

My son says having a good style is super important for being cool in school. I believe it! My son spends at least an hour getting ready in the morning (and he wears a uniform!). Deciding between shorts and long pants is quite the task! Besides clothing, his hair is everything to him. He spends a good portion of the morning styling it. New Suave Kids Disney Star Wars collection has become his fave. He uses the Disney Star Wars Kylo Ren 3-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Body Wash to get squeaky clean from head to toe. He makes sure to pay extra attention to his hair. Once he is done washing up, styling his hair is next. It takes patience and some good styling gel to get the job done. He uses Disney Star Wars Stormtrooper Styling Gel to get his curls perfectly curly. I love that it is alcohol-free and keeps his hair from getting too crunchy! My son loves the cool, ocean scent. He says it works really well with the ladies.

Act normal, don’t brag
I definitely have to agree with this tip. We constantly tell our kids to be humble. No one likes a person who brags. Stay true to yourself.

Confidence
A confident kid can definitely influence others. They can help other kids, make decisions on their own, and even problem solve.

Be friendly
My son said that the coolest kids in his school are always really friendly. They say hello to everyone. They talk to everyone. They interact with others and aren’t mean.

Be a leader, not a follower
I always tell my son to stand up for himself and believe in himself. To be a leader.

If you have a little girl, Suave Kids has Disney Frozen hair products just for them. They’ll be able to style their hair with Frozen products! Suave is a trusted brand by many families and I love that they have a collection just for kids! Both of my children are blessed with gorgeous curls that need a lot of moisturizing so using products that are gentle on their hair is important to me. New Suave Kids variants make bath time exciting and playful with products inspired by the popular characters of Disney Star Wars and Frozen. They actually ask to shower now. I know I’m not the only parent who has to constantly remind their child to shower!

  1. These are sooooo cool. I have a little Star Wars fan here in my house that would flip his lid for these.

  2. Some children at that age are into their hair and clothes and looking good already. Our kids were never really into what hair products they used at the age. It was up to me to find great products for them to use. Having a star wars container does help.

  3. He’s so cute doing his own hair in the mirror! It’s so important that our kids go to school confident every day.

  4. A lot of the styles have changed since I was in school, but a lot of the tips for being a cool kid remain the same. You gotta be a friend to make friends!

  5. Your son is a little charmer. It is nice that he knows how to look good and be “cool.” My grandchildren are still too young for these, but I have a little nephew in 2nd grade who will love styling his own hair with Suave Kids

  6. My son let me select his clothes up until about age 11, then he was all like no way mom. I was bummed because now he absolutely refuses to wear anything but track pants! It’s a battle! ☺ But he did totally dye his hair blonde!

  7. This is so awesome that your son would participate in this. I think cool kids have changed because being nice was never what kids thought was cool when I was growing up.

  8. Awwww.. He’s so adorable! Now I admire him more because of his nice tips! Ha! Oh gosh, I guess I should tell my 5-year old how to be humble. She tell a lot of stories to her classmates which I guess they do not want to hear. Like I guess when we bought our new car. Or maybe kids are just like that? Oh well, I guess I’ll focus on her being humble. 😀

  9. Oh my gosh your son is TOO cute! I had no clue Suave had a kids line like this – brilliant! These sound like great products too!
