Today, I begin my journey on losing weight and being healthy. Next month I’ll be 30 years old (no secrets here!) and want to start this age right! I’m technically considered “overweight” when my BMI is calculated. I knew I had gained about 30 pounds since having my son then my daughter. The problem? My son is 6 year old now and my daughter is almost 3 years old. I’ve had more than enough time to get myself into shape.

This is me at my skinnest probably about 120lbs. It was 2007. No kids yet.

In 2008, I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I had a relatively healthy pregnancy. My only issue was morning sickness! I couldn’t keep anything down. My entire pregnancy I gained less than 30 lbs.
pregnancy I had lost some of the weight breastfeeding but never really got back to my pre-pregnancy weight. When I got pregnant with my daughter I was probably about 140lbs. I had morning sickness again but mostly nausea. I gained about the same as with my son somewhere around 25-30 lbs.

Ever since I started blogging my eating habits have drastically changed. I’m up until midnight to 1 am every night. Which means late night snacking and coffee with creamer! It adds up. I was doing less exercise as well. Before I knew it was up to 150 lbs. It only got worse during the summer – I had a lot more blogging work than ever. I was constantly sitting and eating late at night. I also wasn’t cooking as much which meant grabbing fast food (not McDonald’s – yuck!) like Pollo Tropical or Chick Fil A.

nutrisystem My weight just kept creeping up! I knew I had to do something. When I came across Nutrisystem, I was intrigued with the idea of getting all the meals I needed to lose weight. No worries about what to eat or how much, everything was done for me. Today, I began the Fast 5 which is Nutrisystem way of losing 5 pounds.

fast5 You’re provided with 7 breakfast, lunches, and dinners plus shakes. All you need to supplement with is veggies. Next, week I’ll start the regular Nutrisystem. I’m so excited to start seeing results. I will be posting weekly on my updates – how I feel, how much I’ve lost, etc. I’m going on a cruise in a few months and can’t wait to be bikini ready!
