La Familia de Hoy

This is a compensated collaboration with Johnson and Johnson and Latina Bloggers Connect. However, all opinions stated here are my own.
LaFamiliaDeHoyLogo What does it mean to be “La Familia de Hoy“? Being a “modern family” or “family of today” can be identified differently by many people but to me, being a modern family means having goals and aspirations yet remembering family traditions.

My family consists of myself, my husband and my two children. My husband and I both work outside the home but we still remember to spend time together. If it means missing out on an event, so be it. We know our children will grow up so fast! I want them to see that with hard work and dedication they can achieve their goals. I went to college and their daddy is currently working on finishing his degree. The modern family remembers that life is a work in progress. We know that weekdays are always busy with work and school. My five-year-old son plays baseball (and has been since 3 years old!) on the weekends and we are there every time to support him. My husband helps coach, as well. I think it is important to lay that foundation – work, education, extra-curricular activities, as well as helping others. The Jiménez family demonstrates all of these qualities.

The Jiménez family

Johnson & Johnson and Univision have launched a campaign to find an authentic, modern and active family to become “La Familia de Hoy.” One of my favorite families was the Jiménez family. Los Jiménez, who are predominantly Mexican, are composed of three families whose houses are connected by their backyards. It is so incredible to see that all of the children will grow up with their cousins around, their aunts/uncles, and their grandparents. They are all there to support Diego on his love for sports. What is our favorite thing about the Jiménez? Their sense of family union, their laughter and love for life.

I encourage you to take the time to read about the three families and make your decision on who is “La Familia de Hoy”? Please visit the “La Familia de Hoy” voting site to learn more. After you vote, there will be an option to print some Johnson & Johnson product coupons!

Let me ask you – What is “La Familia de Hoy” to you? Tell me what does it mean to you?
