Who is ready for the Halloween festivities to begin? I cannot wait – it is one of my favorite holidays. Because I’m a crafter I always make a t-shirt for me and the kids for pretty much any holiday. This year I’m excited because I can use Cricut Infusible Ink transfer sheets. The Cricut Infusible Ink system has definitely changed the way I create t-shirts for my family. I love the look and feel of the shirts – seriously they are like store-bought tees!
Using Cricut Design Space (the Beta desktop version), I created a “Just Here for the Boos” t-shirt. You can learn to make your own adult Halloween t-shirt by following my step-by-step guide below. Can’t wait to see what you make!
Adult Halloween Shirt and Tote using Cricut Infusible Ink
Materials Need:
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore cutting machine
- Cricut EasyPress 2
- Cricut EasyPress mat (I used the 12 x 12 size)
- StandardGrip mat
- Cricut T-shirt Blank or Cricut Tote Blank
- Infusible Ink Transfer sheet (I used Patterns, Animal Brights package)
- Cardstock (80 lbs)
- Butcher paper
- Lint roller
- Weeding tools
- Grab the design in Cricut Design Space by searching “I’m just here for the Boos”
Open the design and size it to what you need. I’m using three different Infusible ink transfer sheets. You can do a solid color for everything or use pattern – totally up to you!
Cutting the design:
Design Space will arrange your design based on color. Place the Infusible Ink Transfer sheet on the StandardGrip mat with the design facing up.
Select the Infusible Ink as the material (just do a search for it). Note: You must mirror your image. Send it to print. Weed your design carefully. Be sure your hands are clean – no oils or water. Repeat process for both Infusible Ink Transfer sheets.
Meanwhile, prepare the t-shirt. Place a piece of cardstock paper on top of the Cricut EasyPress mat and inside the blank t-shirt. Use the lint roller to remove any lint from the t-shirt (as it could affect the transfer). Start heating up the Cricut Easypress to 385 degrees. Place a piece of butcher paper on top of the t-shirt – using the EasyPress, heat the t-shirt for 15 seconds.
Arrange the design on the t-shirt. Once you are happy with the placement – place a piece of butcher paper on top of the design. Use the EasyPress to heat the material for 40 seconds at 385 degrees. Let cool then carefully remove the carrier sheet.
Get ready to hit the town with this adorable custom shirt! I wanted mine tee to be fun and vibrant which is why I went with the leopard design (oh la la). The tiger print was calling my name too so I’m thinking I may make a different style tee or tote with that pattern.
