I am so excited to bring the first item on my Holiday Gift Guide. I have a series of books that will be a fantastic add to your kids Holiday gifts. I always like to include a few books for Christmas because it shouldn’t be all about the toys. Any chance to help my sons education is important to me.
Who doesn’t love Clifford, the Big Red Dog? I was sent a copy of Clifford’s Bedtime Story box. The box set comes with 6 books – Clifford the Big Red Dog, Clifford at the Circus, Clifford Takes a Trip, Clifford Goes to Dog School, Clifford the Firehouse Dog, Clifford’s Family.
I remember Clifford the Big Red Dog from when I was younger and it was so great to share it with my children, such a nostalgic feeling to be able to read about the same loveable dog years later. My son’s favorite was Clifford at the Circus and Clifford Goes to School. I loved seeing the enthusiasm and joy on his face while I read it to him. He loved that he can now add six new books to his reading list. His school is participating in a read across Broward and in April depending on how many books he has read he can get a medal.
Being that my son is 5 years old and just started Kindergarten, I know how important reading comprehension could be. I loved that the Clifford books were easy to read. He was able to recognize many of the words. He has been learning sight words in school and was able to identify all of the words he has learned thus far.
Clifford’s Bedtime Story box would be a wonderful addition in all children’s bookshelves this holiday season. My son and I give it 3 thumbs up! You can purchase an assortment of Clifford story books on the Scholastic website or on Amazon.
