We went on a family cruise vacation last month on Norwegian Cruise Lines Getaway. It was our second time on the ship and we had such a great time. I’ve done other cruises but this one really is fun for the entire family from the day time activities to the night activities. We were able to full enjoy the night time activities since our daughter was old enough to go to Splash Academy (for kids 3+).
We had 2 days at sea before we got to St. Thomas. We love Magen’s Bay in St. Thomas. We came here last year and decided to return on this cruise. The water is surprisingly cold in the Caribbean but it was refreshing since the weather is HOT! They do have some vendors that sell food and alcoholic beverages. They also have kayaks and paddle boards for rent. We just wanted to relax so didn’t do any water sports besides snorkeling with our own gear. The views are breathtaking. I love taking the drive to Magen’s Bay because you get pretty high up before you descend to the Bay.
The kids always get exhausted after the beach. They usually nap on the ride and a little bit when we get to the stateroom. We take the time to relax before dinner. We always ate with the kids early then took them to Splash Academy. My kids loved Splash Academy – they always came back happy and excited about the things they did. Every night they have a different theme so it keeps it new and exciting for them. My husband and I ate once we dropped them off. We really got to enjoy the restaurants this time!
