Why Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is Worth the Price

A big thanks to Walt Disney World for providing complimentary tickets to this amazing event.
Mickey's very merry christmas party
Disney is magical every day of the year but it is even more magical for Christmas. We were invited to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party a few weeks ago. It was my family’s first time attending but I promise it will not be our last. I did not realize how special the event really was. Walt Disney World is transformed into a Merry Christmas party with wreaths, lights, nutcrackers, and our favorite Disney characters dressed in their merriest outfits. The Christmas party is a special ticketed event that begins at 7 pm but you can enter the park as early as 4 pm. The party ends on December 22nd, 2017 so be sure to get your tickets now! You might be wondering if the price is worth it, I share our families experience and share why I think it is worth the price.

Why Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is Worth the Cost

Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade

The parade is not to be missed! Seriously! The parade has so many characters and even the big guy himself – SANTA! My kids were oohing and ahhing the entire time. The parade is held twice during the party. Be sure to get there early because it gets really crowded. Find a good spot and just enjoy the awesomeness! The parade is definitely one of the best I’ve ever seen. It really makes you feel part of the show. There are certain floats that smell like candy! The sounds and smells go perfectly with each float that passes. The kids will be amazed at all the dancing, lights, sounds, and characters.

Delicious Treats

The free treats located around the park is a fun surprise. We got to taste everything! Sno-cones, hot chocolate, cookies, pretzels, chocolates, and more. You can get as many snacks as your little heart desires. It was wonderful to stroll through the park with delicious hot cocoa and cookies! I can’t turn that down! The restaurants also have special desserts for purchase like Yule logs, eggnog custard, holiday cinnamon roll (YUM!), and more. Just stop by all the shops and see what festive dessert they have.

Characters in their Merry Costumes

The characters looked amazing in their holiday costumes. The only problem we faced was the long lines. My kids preferred the rides instead of waiting on line to see the characters. We were able to see them close enough to see their adorable costumes. Some lines were shorter than others but the popular characters had quite a long line. The line for the Seven Dwarfs was the longest! However, seeing the characters was a really nice treat. Just be sure to know where the characters you want to see are and go straight there as soon as you enter.

Holiday Wishes

Fireworks are amazing but Holiday Wishes fireworks are out of this world. The fireworks really lit up the sky! Hosted by Jiminy Cricket, the Holiday Wishes fireworks spectacular features dazzling pyrotechnics, transformational lighting on Cinderella Castle, holiday-themed projection effects and seasonal songs that includes such classics as:

  • “Sleigh Ride”
  • “Jingle Bells”
  • “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”
  • “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”
  • “O Christmas Tree”
  • “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”
  • “Spirit of the Season”

The kids absolutely loved watching the fireworks and all the magic.

Rides & Attractions

The rides are always a favorite for my kids. We attended the Christmas party on a Friday night and got there just about 4:30pm. We were able to get on almost every single ride with minimal wait. There is no fast pass during the Christmas party because the lines are usually shorter. We waited at most 15-20 mins. It really was not bad AT ALL. I think that is worth the cost of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – shorter lines. The Jungle cruise is transformed into the “Jingle Cruise”. Here are the attractions opened during the special event:

Main Street, U.S.A.

  • Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Why Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is Worth the Price

As a first time attendee of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, I was impressed and amazed at all the Christmas magic. The park itself is transformed into a Merry wonderland. Mickey Mouse wreaths adore the light post, magic flurries falling from the sky, and favorite characters dressed in their merry best. The kids had a blast getting treats from different stations and getting on all their favorite rides. It was worth it for fewer crowds and shorter lines. We definitely made lasting memories and there really is no price on that.

We will be back!
