I don’t know about you but in the mornings I am always rushing. I have three alarm times and I still struggle to wake up. Some things do not change because when I was younger my abuela always had to wake me up multiple times. My abuelita was always up early, preparing our breakfast, and getting our lunches ready for school. Now that I have children of my own, I look for quick, easy breakfast meals that can be taken “on-the-go”. My kids love Kellogg’s cereal but sometimes we just don’t have the time to sit and eat a bowl with milk. I started making parfaits with cereal and fruits for my family.

Making the parfaits are easy! I use glass jars with lids because they can be easily transported to/from home. My kids can eat their parfait mix in the car on their way to school. My husband and I can also take it with us to work. I’m always looking for shortcuts, many times I will prepare the parfaits the night before which saves me time in the morning. Grab and go!

The combinations are endless when it comes to parfaits. Kellogg’s has so many delicious cereals and bars, coming up with a new parfait recipe is easy, peasy! One day you might want Apple Jacks, the next day Froot Loops, etc. My family loves Apple Jacks and the Apple Cinnamon Nutri-Grain bars which is usually the combination I do often. The recipe is easy, I promise!

Ingredients:

  • Kellogg’s Apple Jacks
  • Kellogg’s Apple Cinnamon Nutri-Grain bars
  • Yogurt (I used Vanilla Greek yogurt)
  • Diced strawberries (I used about 3-4 pieces)

Directions:

  1. Start your first layer by adding the Kellogg’s Apple Jack’s inside your container.KelloggsAppleJacksParfait

  4. Add another layer of yogurt.
  5. Add more of the Apple Jack’s on top of the yogurt
  6. Add another layer of yogurt
  7. Grab your Nutri-Grain bar and crumble it between your fingers (it’ll be a little messy).appleJacksParfait
  8. Place the crumbled Nutri-Grain bar on top of the yogurt and you’re done!

  1. Usually, I eat Greek yogurt for breakfast. I must admit that I’m kind of bored with it. Your cereal parfait recipe looks like a fun way to shake up and wake up my boring breakfast. I will definitely give it a try soon.

  2. What a clever breakfast creation. All of those products are favorites at our house, but we never considered layering them all together. We are gonna try these for breakfast next week.

  3. I saw this on instagram this morning and I was like yasss where is the recipe lol. I love all of the things except the yogurt but I can do it because it has all the other tasty treats so I can get through the yogurt part.

  4. Oh my gosh, these looks amazingly good. For sure a hit with my fmaily. We love Apple Jacks, and yogurt. I’ve never even thought about putting them together. Going to try these over the weekend. Also, how cool for those busy, on the go days.

  5. This is such a great idea! My daughter and I have an hour commute to get her to school every day, so breakfast is often drive thru or very rushed. I will definitely have to make some of these up ahead of time so she can have a healthier, on the go breakfast!

  6. What a quick and easy breakfast idea!! I love that its food I already have in my pantry as a breakfast food. I am going to have to try these morning are not my friend I am slow going most days.

  7. Oh my, that looks delicious. Kellogg’s Apple Jacks and Froot Loops are my kids favorite. They also love yogurt, so I’m very sure they will love this. This is going to be a really yummy breakfast for them.

  8. This is a GREAT idea! I don’t have kids yet, but of course I can do this still 😛 I actually love anything now that can be made, packed, and stored in mason jars. They’re really quite handy and looks aesthetically good too 😉

  9. I have these really neat green mason jars that my son and daughter and I can use to make these Fun Cereal parfaits! I think they look so pretty and fun to make. Thanks for the idea!
