date night essentialsWhen was the last time you had a date night with your significant other? Date nights are few and far between for us parents, it seems. The problem is that dates are important for a relationship so we need to make date nights an important part of the schedule. Pencil it in like its a doctor’s appointment. But I get it sometimes we don’t have it in the budget to have a full date night with dinner and a movie – there are many no cost date night ideas you can do! Just be sure to bring along some essentials like ChapStick Total Hydration, Nexium 24HR, Emergen-C, and Advil Tablet Vials. You’ll be prepared for anything!
Date Night

  1. Head to the bookstore – I know it doesn’t sound “fun” but my husband and I love going to the bookstore for relaxing one-on-one time. We get to catch up on our favorite magazines and talk about what was interesting for us.
  2. Go on a walk/hike at a nature park – enjoy the peace and quiet of your surroundings together. Not only are you spending time together but you are getting in some healthy exercise. Win-win! Might also be a good idea to bring a blanket and some snacks from home.
  3. Head to the beach – take a walk by the shore, walk the pier, or watch the sunset. There are so many no-cost things that can be done at the beach. Bring a blanket to take in the view while you lay on the sand. Bringing snacks from home is a great idea too!
  4. Have a date night at home – have a movie night or a game night just you and your significant other. Cook a nice meal then settle in for a movie you’ve been waiting to see or a little friendly board game competition!
  5. Go on a city bike ride – take a bike ride around an area you love. Head to the park or ride along the beach. There are so many places you can go depending on where you live.

When you go on these adventures be sure to be prepared with some essentials. ChapStick Total Hydration, Emergen-C, Nexium 24HR, and Advil Tablet Vial are my go-to products when I am out and about. I also take disinfecting wipes, back-up battery pack, hair ties, and some light oil perfume.

  • ChapStick Total Hydration – I have one of these everywhere! ChapStick Total Hydration has become my favorite because of the advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rosehip oils. It instantly smoothes and moisturizes my lips. Perfect for smooches!
  • Emergen-C – I need to keep the sickies at by and this gives me the vitamins and nutrients I need to stay healthy! With over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes, Emergen-C offers the formula, flavor, fix, and FUN you’re looking for!
  • Nexium 24HR – The #1 prescribed acid blocker brand (Based on IMS health data: total Nexium® prescriptions 2006 – 2014). I know when I eat certain foods, I get heartburn so this is a must in my purse.
  • Advil Tablet Vials – A headache can come out of nowhere so having these little vials available is a must! Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers).

  1. These are all such great free date night ideas. My hubby and I are on a budget this holiday season so any free way to reconnect is awesome. I will most definitely have to look into the products you highlight–anything to help my family and I survive through cold and flu season.

  2. I love these ideas!! Sometimes the dates that cost the least are the ones that build the best memories! Walking and hiking in the park here is one of our favorite things to do together as a couple.

  3. My husband would call it pure torture (heaven for me) if we went to a bookstore for our date night. He’d enjoy a walk at our local nature park though. We definitely need more date nights.

  4. my husband and I prefer date night’s at home. Grandma will take the kids for the night so it is just the two of us. I must say, I end up with a lot of leftovers because I’m not use to only cooking for two lol

  5. These are awesome tips that should be done to rekindle the spark between couples without breaking the bank. A date in the bookstore is pretty much most recommended for those who are bookworms. Chapstick total hydration is a great thing to carry in the bag every time.

  6. Those are really good date night suggestions. I wish I could get my wife to walk a trail, bike, or kayak with me. The outdoors would be so much more enjoyable with her there to share it with me. Oh well, I guess that just leaves more nature for me to enjoy.

  7. Love these date night ideas! It’s so rare that we get to have a date night, that I want to really spend time reconnecting rather than sitting in a dark movie theater or noisy restaurant. ChapStick is a MUST on my date night essentials list! {client}

  8. Date nights can really become few and far between when you have kids. It is just in the cards for us sometimes. These are wonderful tips to enjoy time together without cost!

  9. Thank you for the essential tips! They are definitely must have items to bring on a date or any time I am out of the house! I will make it a point to create my own essentials kit so it can be a staple item in my purse! Thanks for giving me that idea!

  10. One thing about the hubby and me is that we will get in a date, through hell and high water. He has such a strenuous job. I take pride in making sure he is relaxed when he comes home and when we go out..
