Not all schools require a uniform and that is OK! My kids have an optional school uniform and we plan to play it by ear this year. If we see kids wearing uniforms, we’ll continue to put them on. Outfit Ideas for Back-to-School
Legging Tops
Leggings Tops (like a tunic) are perfect for girls to wear. They are slightly longer in the back which provides plenty of coverage. Land’s End has a variety of Legging Tops in different colors, patterns, and shapes. Mix and match with leggings to complete the look. Did I mention how soft they are? Love the way the material feels! I want to also point out that I’m not the best at washing clothes – colors tend to fade when I wash (please tell me I’m not alone!) – I washed my daughter’s Leggings Top and it looks like new. The pinks are still pink and the blues are still blue. It is a miracle. I know the tops will last her the whole school year and I love that I can mix and match with different color leggings or pants. Win!
Soft Leggings
Leggings are a staple around here. My kids like to be comfortable, who doesn’t? I live in yoga pants half the time so I totally get it. We have a variety of leggings at home – shorts, ankle length, long length – you name it my daughter has it. They allow our kids to move around easily so it makes sense. Plus, my daughter is going to Kindergarten and play-time is a big deal. I want her to feel comfortable when she is jumping, dancing, running, walking, sitting, sliding, swinging… you get the idea. Land’s End has these buttery soft leggings that just feel amazing. My daughter would tell me if something doesn’t feel right – trust me. She has #Nofilter. She may have asked her brother and daddy to feel her soft pants a few times, no big deal. Did I mention the colors match perfectly to the Legging Tops? Yes, yes they do! Takes the guess work out of matching and coordinating outfits.
Comfy Shoes
Shoes are an issue in my house. I promise you that I have difficulties when buying shoes for my kids. I sometimes worry about buying shoes without my kids trying them on – but even if they did say it was OK in stores – the minute they wear them at home – ISSUE. Never fails. Land’s End has these adorable sneakers – perfect for Back-to-School. I was worried about ordering online but I took a risk and I am SO glad I did. My daughter loved them! She has kind of wide feet and the shoe gave her just the right amount of space that she needed. They have some cushion inside which she liked. The sneakers are super durable with rubber material for the soles. They are available in Navy, Smokey blue, and White. I’m hoping some additional colors become available because hearing no foot complaints is just amazing to me. They also have a style with velcro (which I love!) if you prefer that for smaller kids. I have my eye on the pink velcro ones – they are so cute.
I love a statement flat, aren’t these adorable? Leopard print, oh la la. No complaints from this shoe either. My daughter adored them – she loved that they matched her Legging top! I love that they can be worn with everything – leggings, jeans, skirts, and dresses. My favorite kind of shoe. The pop of pink makes it perfect for little girls! Are you thinking these need to come in adult size? Yes, me too!
Accessories
Backpacks. Can we talk about that for a minute? My daughter starts Kindergarten on Monday and I didn’t want to get her a character backpack as those tend to break. They just don’t last. My son went through a Mickey Mouse stage, a MARVEL stage, a Wild Kratts stage, and so on. Every backpack broke half way through the school year. It was frustrating. Money wasted. I learned my lesson. I only buy quality backpacks that are going to last the entire school year and more. Land’s End to the rescue! I heard so many great things about the backpacks from Land’s End. I love that they have a variety of sizes that fit any age/grade. My daughter is going to Kindergarten so I got her the smaller size backpack. It is the perfect size for her but still has so much room for all her little school supplies. The back packs are cute and functional. Sometimes we have to pick one over the other. The coordinating lunch boxes are available as well.
