Date nights don’t happen often for my husband and I. We have tried out best to at least have a little alone time without the kids once a month. Having dates are important for any relationship especially a marriage. I sometimes need to see myself as a “woman” and not just a “mom”. I was excited at the opportunity to spend the night at the beautiful Waterstone Resort & Marina at Boca Raton. An all day and night date? I’ll take it. No questions asked!
The resort was only about 25 mins away from home which made it feel like a little vacation close to home. The experience from start to finish was amazing. We were instantly greeted when we walked in, the check-in process was a breeze, and the warm cookie we received was a wonderful treat.
The room had breathtaking views of Lake Boca. We got to see all the boats gathering around having a great time. We were surprised with a platter of cheese, crackers, and champagne. We loved tasting all the different cheeses. It was a great start to our date night.
We had dinner reservation at one of the restaurants, Boca Landing, in the evening. We were looking forward to some delicious dinner. The menu had a little bit of everything. I really, really enjoyed the Waterstone Watermelon martini and the beautiful views of Lake Boca was a plus! The sun was setting in the distance making it feel so romantic. It was nice to have one-on-one conversation without hearing bickering in the background from the kids. We really got to cherish the moment together.
The food was amazing – from start to finish. We started with some homemade chips with fish dip and tuna ceviche with tortilla chips. For our entrees we got “The Butcher’s Steak” and “Mango Mustard Salmon”. We really enjoyed the food and cannot wait to go back and try something new.
The night was still young so we decided to venture out and head to the movies. We don’t get to go to the movies very often so this was a treat for us! We had a blast acting like we were young again. We actually saw Independence Day 2. It was really a great date night.
We woke up feeling well rested and refreshed – those beds are seriously amazing! Before we left we got to visit the pool – we were saddened we didn’t have time to take a dip. Next time, we plan on taking advantage of the amenities. The pool and definitely renting a boat! They have many different water activities or if you prefer, the beach is not too faraway!
