Under the sea slime recipe

Slime has become a “must” activity around my house. My littlest one (and sassiest) always want to make slime. I ended up buying the big ‘ol jug of glue because I was constantly buying. Her latest request was under the sea slime so we headed to our local craft shop and picked up some essentials – glitter and some sea life. We’ve made slime before, confetti and hearts (for Valentine’s day favors) and Monster slime if you want some other alternatives.

This slime how-to will show you exactly what you need to make your own under the sea slime or ocean theme. I think the craft is perfect for both older and younger kids because they can help mix things or pour the different items.

Step 2: Slowly add the baking soda (a little at a time) and mix well.

Step 3: Add the Saline Solution 1/2 TSP at a time. You will notice the glue starts to separate from the side of the bowl. Just keep mixing as you add the rest of the solution. Grab the slime with your hands and carefully move it around. It will be sticky but it will lose the stickiness. Add your ocean friends to the slime and enjoy!

The kids helped me with pretty much every single step. It was a perfect Summer craft project when we couldn’t go outside due to rain. It rains a lot here in Florida! We have so many ideas on what to do next. I did find these containers that hold the slime so they don’t get dried out quickly. You can also store them in a Ziploc bag if you don’t have a container. Totally use what you got!

Ocean animal theme slime

The Under the Sea slime is great for party favors too! Find cute containers and make some labels for some awesome party favors that all kids would love. An Under the Sea party or even mermaids. Switch the sea animals to mermaids instead to get some Mermaid slime! Adding little animals to the slime can totally change the theme easily. Sharks, dolphins, or fish can make it a fun learning experiment.

Have you ever made your own slime?
